But let's understand a few facts from recent times as well. In 2006 George Bush Jr instituted a Democracy Initiative in Gaza to encourage Palestinians to vote (ironically for Israeli politics). Hamas then started putting out requests for peace talks, which Netanyahu and George Bush wouldn't allow. Many years ago a very wise and compassionate man, Abraham Joshua Heschel, wrote an impassioned book, A Passion For Truth, in which he wrote about the true forces of Judaism which you would do well to read. There was the Baal Shem Tov, who was the Rabbi of Light and Love, and there was Rabbi Mendel of Kotzk (the Kotzker) who represented the attitude of the Prophets to have the people return from their always erring ways. Both men believed in the power of Love, and both men taught that Love not expressed by your hands is only lip-service. Heschel believed that once an idea had become only lip-service, the idea was destroyed. The evil of Zionism is hell bent on destroying Love, and they’ve succeeded for at least half the Israeli population.
